About the Role

We are seeking a Marketing & Contract Intern to join our expanding team of professionals.

The Marketing & Contracts Intern will work alongside Blackwater’s Marketing & Contracts Manager approximately 20 hours per week, performing duties outlined below. This position is for up to three months with the possibility to extend. Salary Range: $18-$19 per hour depending upon experience and completed coursework

Duties*
The Marketing & Contracts Intern will assist the Marketing & Contracts Manager with:
• Market Research – Conducting research to gather insights into industry trends, competitor activities, best practices, and procurement opportunities.
• Procurement – Assisting with developing proposals and required documentation as outlined in RFQs, RFPs, and EOIs.
• Writing – Assisting with writing, maintaining, and proofreading marketing collateral.
• Content Development – Assisting with planning, developing, and executing marketing materials and campaigns, including for company website, social media, conferences, events, and proposal responses.
• Analytics & Reporting – Utilizing analytics tools to track and analyze marketing campaigns and procurement opportunities.
• Records Management – Assisting with maintaining up-to-date and accurate information in Blackwater’s CRM database.
• Collaborating with internal teams.
• Providing general administrative support.

Qualifications

Required Education, Skills, and Experience 

  • Incoming Junior or Senior currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related discipline. 

  • Familiarity with marketing principles, strategies, and best practices.  

  • Strong relationship skills and ability to effectively collaborate in a team environment. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Skilled in writing, editing, and proofreading content with attention to detail, especially grammar and style. 

  • Excellent prioritization, organization, and project management skills. 

  • Graphic design and/or content writing skills. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. 

 

Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience 

  • Experience with InDesign and Canva. 

  • Experience with social media marketing, specifically LinkedIn.
